I tried, and failed, to buy a house in 2015. The process was very bureaucratic. When I saw myself repeating my mistakes during my 2016 wedding planning, I decided I wasn't going to waste any more time on this, because bureaucracy is bullshit, and life is short.
On being right
It's very dangerous to try to "be right"; like drugs, it feels great, but costs a fortune in time, money, and lost relationships.
"Being right" is a futile undertaking in most human endeavors, including dating, politics, and art. It matters in investing, scientific inquiry, and games of strategy.
