The Conspiracy of Fat

December 27, 2018

It's hard to avoid getting fat. Especially because social eating—overeating, even—is so culturally entrenched.

Birthday? Make a cake.

Dinner party? Bring something to eat; desserts best.

Thanksgiving: a holiday of eating.

Younger consumers are more health conscious than previous generations. I wouldn't be surprised if some of this changes as my generation starts hosting the barbecues and family get-togethers.

Though, who knows—the so-called Millennials weren't supposed to like buying houess either, but it turns out we're just poorer and taking longer to get them.
